Changing the world, one child at a time

Home of the Good Shepherd is a Christian Ministry based in southern Brazil. Children, as young as two, are brought to the Home by the local Judicial Social Service Dept. While no distinction on entering is made as to their individual experiences of abuse, abandonment, neglect or being orphaned; once within its protective arms, the nurturing and care in the home addresses their specific needs.

The Home is equipping young lives to succeed, not just to survive. The home provides a holistic balance to young lives in danger. While their essential physical, spiritual, education and emotional needs are met, all children are introduced to the Gospel of our Lord’s love and saving grace.

Our Mission

The Mission of “Home of the Good Shepherd Ministries” is to provide the highest quality of care in a Christian environment, defend the cause of the weak and homeless, maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed, rescue the needy children – recognizing that this is a genuine expression of Christ’s mission and ministry.

The situation is urgent,
but there is hope

An estimated 14 million, or 23 percent of Brazil's children are vulnerable to a life on the streets.

Current goal:

Our goal, by the Grace of God, is to reach and sustain the Home’s capacity for equipping innocent young lives to succeed.

Between 60 and 70 children currently live at the Home, which will soon be able to house 80 children. With additional funding and sponsorship, we can apply this unused capacity to help even more children. More >
